1 dead, 5 injured in car accident in Nuwakot



KATHMANDU: One person died and five people were injured in an accident in Nuwakot on Saturday.

A vehicle belonging to Lamjung’s Super Dordi ‘B’ project veered off the road while traveling from Kathmandu to Lamjung, resulting in one death and five injuries.

The incident occurred at Shivpuri-8 Kafaldanda in Nuwakot. SP Shanti Raj Koirala reported that the deceased, Upendra Khanal, a 58-year-old resident of Kathmandu, sustained severe injuries in the crash and succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Kathmandu for medical treatment.

The district police office confirmed that five other individuals were injured in the accident: Vishwanath Adhikari, 46; Ramsharan Adhikari, 52; Harikala Khanal, 76; Gayatri Khanal, 51; and Chandranath Sharma, 63.

They are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals in Kathmandu. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
