Two arrested in Rautahat with Rs 1 million cash



KATHMANDU: Two individuals have been apprehended in Rautahat with a Nepali-numbered plate Breza car and Rs 1 million in cash.

The Chief of Rautahat District Police Office, SP Mahendra Kumar Shrestha, informed that both individuals, identified as 30-year-old Marmati Moktan and 36-year-old Devaraj Thing, were arrested along with NPR 1 million, the source of which remains undisclosed.

According to the SP, the Area Police Office in Banjaraha took action after the police team deployed to Ishanath-1, Rautahat, suspected their activities and decided to inspect the car.

Following the search, both individuals were taken into custody, and the car, along with a black bag hidden behind the rear seat containing 850 notes of Rs 1,000 and 300 notes of Rs 500, totaling Rs 1 million, was recovered.

DSP Eliza Giri, the spokesperson for the District Police, provided details regarding the arrest.
