Avalanche hits Manang, disrupts travel to Upper and Lower Mustang

MANANG: An avalanche struck Dhukurpokhari in Ngisyang rural municipality of Manang district, resulting in disruptions to local travel routes.

The avalanche has made travel to both upper and lower Mustang areas challenging, affecting the movement of local residents and tourists alike.

Chief District Officer Subash Kumar Lamichhane stated that although the avalanche did not block the road, trekking in the upper region has become hazardous due to heavy snowfall experienced on Sunday night.

“Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, district chief of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, expressed concern over the safety of tourists, as approximately 50 to 60 visitors arrive daily in the area.
