DIG Arjun Chand of TIA Security Office withdraws resignation

KATHMANDU: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Arjun Chand of the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office, who tendered his resignation from the post on Saturday, has now withdrawn his resignation.

Though Chand did not disclose the reason for his resignation, he attributed it to personal reasons. However, sources suggest that he was dissatisfied with the actions taken by the Ministry for Home Affairs against security personnel involved in the police-immigration officials clash.

DIG Chand reconsidered his decision following a discussion with IGP Basanta Raj Kunwar at the latter’s office in Police Headquarters on Monday.

Chand assumed the position at the TIA Security Office on Baishak 13.
