Priyanka Chopra mourns death of Nepali actor Sunil Thapa

KATHMANDU: Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra has expressed her condolences on the passing of veteran Nepali actor Sunil Thapa.

Through social media, Chopra shared an emotional tribute, saying she will never forget Thapa. She posted a memorable clip from the film Mary Kom, recalling Thapa not only as a co-actor but also as a guiding mentor in her life.

Chopra remembered Thapa’s support, affection, and guidance during a time when she was emotionally fragile following her father’s death.

“You will always remain my Coach Sir,” she wrote. “Even when I did not understand, you loved me like family and supported me through difficult days.”

She added that Thapa’s laughter, warmth, and inspiring personality will remain alive in her memories forever.

Priyanka also expressed deep sympathy for Thapa’s family and loved ones, noting, “From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and support in my darkest times.”

Sunil Thapa had worked with Priyanka Chopra in the 2014 hit film Mary Kom, where he played her trainer. Their on-screen bond, along with the off-screen relationship, had created a strong sense of closeness between the two artists.
