Bhimphedi-Kulekhani-Dakshinkali closed for upgrading work

MAKWANPUR: The Bhimphedi-Dakshinkali road, a vital link between Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati province, and the federal capital Kathmandu, has been officially closed for vehicular traffic starting today. Serving as the shortest route from Hetauda to Kathmandu, the road shutdown is expected to persist until April 12, 2024.

The decision to close the road comes as a precursor to the initiation of upgrading works on the Dakshinkali municipality section. Authorities are set to commence the much-needed improvements today to enhance the road infrastructure.

To ease the inconvenience caused by the closure, the District Police Office in Makawanpur has urged commuters to consider alternative routes until the scheduled reopening on April 12. Spokesperson Laxmi Bhandari outlined two alternative routes – the road leading to Kathmandu via Kulekhani-Chitlang and the Kanti Highway. Additionally, travelers can opt for the Narayangadh-Muglin road to reach Kathmandu.

Motorists and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, taking into account the temporary closure and exploring alternative routes for a seamless travel experience during this period.
