KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff of the Nepal Army, General Ashok Raj Sigdel, will embark on an official visit to India from December 11 to 14.

The visit comes at the invitation of his Indian counterpart, General Upendra Dwivedi, according to the Army Public Relations and Information Directorate.

On November 20, General Dwivedi visited Nepal for a five-day trip, during which President Ramchandra Paudel bestowed upon him the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army in a ceremony held at the President’s Office.

A significant highlight of the trip will be the conferral of the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army on Sigdel by the President of India, a tradition symbolizing close military ties between the two nations.

During the visit, Sigdel is also scheduled to meet with senior Indian military officials and attend the final parade of officer cadets at the Indian Military Academy as the chief guest.
