KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is holding a vigilance rally in Pokhara tomorrow (Tuesday) as the police present party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane in court.

Lamichhane, who has been in custody since October 19, is scheduled to appear at the Kaski court, where the deadline for his case is likely to be extended.

RSP lawmaker Dr. Toshima Karki announced that the rally will commence from Zero Kilo Ghanti Ghar in Pokhara.

She addressed concerns on social media, stating, “There is a rumor that Chairman Lamichhane has been released from custody. He has not been released. There will be a hearing in Kaski court tomorrow. I urge civil society and all brothers and sisters across the country to recognize that the RSP is the party of the people. I will not allow the hopes of the people here to be dashed.”

Dr. Karki emphasized that the Kaski court will convene on Tuesday to consider the extension of Lamichhane’s custody. She encouraged everyone to show their support for Rabi Lamichhane.

“We do not want to interfere with the investigation. Tomorrow, there will be a vigilance rally from Zero Kilo Ghanti House in Pokhara. I urge everyone to attend this peaceful protest,” she stated.

The RSP leaders are demanding Lamichhane’s release from custody and a thorough investigation into his case.

Although Lamichhane’s statement was completed on Wednesday following his arrest for alleged cooperative fraud, it could not be processed due to the holiday.
