Three children die after drowning in pond in Dhanusa



JANAKPURDHAM: Three children have died after drowning in a pond in Dhanusa.

According to Police Inspector Sonu Kumar Sah of the Area Police Office Sakhuwa Mahendranagar, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Laxminiya Rural Municipality-7.

The deceased have been identified as Aditya Kumar Sah, approximately 10 years old; Ayush Sah, approximately 8 years old; and Sushant Sah, approximately 14 years old.

The children had been visiting their grandfather, Mahavir Sah, for an annual feast.

The drowning happened around 7:30 PM while the family was occupied with the feast.

Ward Chair Ganga Sah stated that the children may have drowned while swimming in the pond.

The bodies have been sent to the Provincial Hospital Janakpur for post-mortem.

The police are investigating the incident.
