KATHMANDU: Meteorologists have predicted a welcomed respite from the summer heat as temperatures are set to drop across the nation starting today (Saturday).

Saroj Pudasaini, a meteorologist from the Weather Forecasting Division, attributed this shift to heightened activity in the westerly wind compared to yesterday (Friday).

“The westerly wind’s vigor has ushered clouds from Nepal’s western regions since Friday night, prompting a significant change in weather nationwide,” Pudasaini explained.

According to him, there will be a gradual decrease in the scorching sun throughout the day, accompanied by a noticeable dip in temperatures, offering a reprieve from the sweltering heat.

It should be noted that provinces, including Lumbini and Madhes, where temperatures had soared above 40 degrees Celsius, are now observing a decline.

This weather pattern is anticipated to persist for at least three days, as per the usual three-day forecast provided by the Division.

However, Kathmandu Valley is unlikely to see rain today, although residents can anticipate a slight cooling effect thanks to cloud cover.
