KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, announced that the government is simplifying access to public services by providing them directly to people’s homes.

He made this statement during the inauguration of a new ‘module’ introduced by the Department of Consular Services, which allows Nepalis living abroad to easily register complaints and address issues through their respective embassies.

DPM Shrestha emphasized the government’s commitment to streamlining public services, stating, “We are launching this service to ensure prompt, efficient, and seamless delivery of government services to people’s homes using information technology.”

He highlighted that with this new service, Nepali citizens residing abroad can conveniently express their grievances and access information online about measures taken to address their concerns.

The Department has also introduced online procedures for obtaining police certificates, aligning with the government’s pledge.

During the program, Department Director-General Prakash Mani Poudel provided details about the services available in the new module.

“Once the service-seeker enters their passport number and date of birth, a new folder is created in the module. This folder allows individuals to report problems and complaints and receive information on how they are being addressed,” he explained.

Director-General Poudel underscored that this service aims to assist Nepali embassies abroad in efficiently serving a larger number of individuals with limited staff.
