Bhaktapur District Administration holds meeting to coordinate Bisket Jatra management



BHAKTAPUR: The District Administration Office in Bhaktapur convened a meeting with various agencies and stakeholders to discuss the management of the upcoming Bisket Jatra.

Led by Chief District Officer (CDO) Roshani Kumari Shrestha, the multi-stakeholder meeting resulted in several decisions aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the festival.

Participants included police officials, government representatives, Guthi Sansthan members, procession organizers, political figures, local clubs, and stakeholders.

To maintain order during the festivities, the Metropolitan Police Range has announced the closure of liquor shops throughout the procession period.

Additionally, Chief District Officer Shrestha highlighted the installation of CCTV cameras along key routes and intersections where the Jatra will take place. Strict measures will be enforced against any disruptions to the event.

The District Administration Office and District Police Range in Bhaktapur will jointly oversee peace and security in the city during the festival.

The Guthi Sansthan Branch Office in Bhaktapur will ensure timely arrangements for all pujas and Jatra-related activities.

Preparations have been made to manage cables, wires, and fiber net cables along the Jatra route, and ambulances, fire engines, and disaster preparedness equipment will be stationed at all city hospitals under the Nepal Red Cross Society, Bhaktapur.

Furthermore, Nepal Scouts will deploy volunteers in crowded areas on April 12, 13, and 17 to assist with crowd management and ensure the safety of participants.
