UML, Maoist Center, RSP and JSP agree to form new coalition govt

Newly-formed alliance expected to be announced today

KATHMANDU: In a recent political development, parties, including the Maoist Center, CPN-UML and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), have reached a consensus to form a coalition government.

A source revealed that the decision was finalized during a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday evening.

The newly formed alliance, expected to be officially announced today, is set to reshape the political landscape.

Barring any unforeseen political upheavals, the existing ruling coalition is poised to dissolve today, paving the way for a collaborative effort between CPN-UML, Maoist Center, and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), according to the insider.

Furthermore, an agreement has been reached among the parties to designate Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda as the Prime Minister.

Earlier today, there are indications that the TRC Bill will be finalized.

A high-ranking source revealed that Prime Minister Dahal is set to communicate the developments to the existing coalition parties, briefing them on the new political landscape.

It should be noted that CPN-UML Chairman Oli engaged in two separate meetings with PM Dahal on Sunday.

The discussions played a crucial role in shaping the new coalition, the source said.
