121-year-old woman in Nuwakot succumbs to respiratory illness



NUWAKOT: A 121-year-old woman at Kakani Rural Municipality-8 in Nuwakot district passed away.

Batuli Lamichhane, who was suffering from respiratory illnesses for the past one week, died at her home on Friday, Lamichhane’s relative Uddhav Humagain said.

Lamichhane was receiving health care services at her home with support from the rural municipality and Bala Foundation.

A family source said that Lamichhane’s final rites were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Friday night. Batuli’s son Netra Prasad Lamichhane, 82, lit the funeral pyre of his mother.

As per the official record, Lamichhane was born in 1959 BS.
