IGP Kuwar leaves for UK

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Bahadur Kuwar left for the United Kingdom this morning (Sunday) to participate in the 92nd General Assembly of Interpol.

According to the Police Headquarters, Kuwar is attending the General Assembly organized by the Interpol General Secretariat, taking place in Glasgow.

Accompanying IGP Kuwar are Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police Anjani Kumar Pokharel and Chief Superintendent of Police Komal Shah from the Interpol Branch.

Thai Asia begins Bhairahawa-Bangkok flights

Thai Asia Airlines has officially commenced flights between Bangkok and Bhairahawa beginning today (Sunday).

At 6:05 this morning, the inaugural ThaiAsia flight landed at Gautam Buddha International Airport, carrying seven crew members.

“Initially, this was a test flight. The Airbus A-320 of Thai Asia successfully landed at Gautam Buddha International Airport with crew members onboard,” stated Binod Singh Raut, the airport’s Information Officer.

Urban Development Minister Singh leaves for Egypt

Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, today left for Cairo, the capital of Egypt, to participate in the World Urban Forum programme. He is leading a Nepali delegation to the program.

The World Urban Forum (WUF) is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, bid him farewell at Tribhuvan International Airport today.

PM Oli receives ‘tika’ from his sisters

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has received ‘tika’ from his sisters Bishnu Maya Dhakal, Kaushila Koirala and Bishnu Oli at the auspicious hour on the occasion of the Bhaitika under the Tihar festival today.

The PM received the ceremonial ‘tika’ from his three sisters at his official residence at Baluwatar today, the Prime Minister’s Private Secretariat has stated.

The ceremonial ‘tika’ of the Bhaitika rituals comprises of blob of seven colours marked on a vertical thick line of white paste of rice flour on the forehead.
