KATHMANDU: Tara Air is set to resume its Pokhara-Jomsom flights starting today, Tuesday.

The service, which was suspended due to poor weather conditions, will recommence as announced by the company in a recent press release.

Sudarshan Bartaula, Aviation Security Officer at Tara Air, attributed the flight’s resumption to improved weather conditions and the upcoming tourist season.

The aircraft will be based in Pokhara overnight to ensure smooth operations between Pokhara and Jomsom, with flights departing from the old airport in Pokhara.

Jomsom Airport, located 2,736 meters above sea level, features a 739-meter runway.

Additionally, Tara Air has announced a new flight schedule for the Ramechhap-Lukla-Ramechhap route starting September 20, in anticipation of the tourist season.

The airline plans to operate 10 to 15 daily flights between Manthali in Ramechhap district and Lukla in Solukhumbu district using two twin Otter aircraft.

This schedule adjustment is aimed at accommodating the expected surge in tourists to the Everest region as the post-monsoon season begins.

Lukla is renowned as the gateway to the Everest region, home to the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha).
