Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa to visit Nepal on Sunday



KATHMANDU: The Foreign Minister of Japan, Yoko Kamikawa, is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on Sunday, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Kamikawa’s visit holds significant diplomatic weight, aiming to strengthen ties between Japan and Nepal.

During her one-day visit, she is slated to hold pivotal meetings with President Ram Chandra Poudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Additionally, bilateral discussions are scheduled between Minister Kamikawa and her Nepali counterpart, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, emphasizing collaboration and mutual interests.

This visit is part of Minister Kamikawa’s broader diplomatic agenda, focusing on fostering relationships between the Global South and like-minded countries, including the Group of Seven nations.

Her itinerary includes visits to Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, France, Sri Lanka, and Nepal from April 26 to May 6.

Minister Kamikawa’s presence underscores Japan’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties with Nepal and its broader engagement in the region.

This visit serves as a testament to the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
