Nepal to clash with Netherlands in Tri-Nations T20I series final

Nepal is poised to go head-to-head against Netherlands in the finals of the tri-nations T20I series. In the match held on Sunday, both Netherlands and Namibia secured one point each as rain disrupted the game. Consequently, Netherlands secured their spot in the finals as the group winner with five points. Meanwhile, Nepal had already secured their place in the finals by defeating the Dutch team by six wickets on Saturday.

PM Dahal reviews progress of ‘National Pride Projects’ with ministry officials

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ conducted discussions today with officials from the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport to assess the advancements in the national pride projects. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, Ministry Secretary Keshav Sharma, various departmental heads, and joint-secretaries attended the meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Former Foreign Minister and Nepali Congress lawmaker Dr. Narayan Khadka has indicated that international law might be invoked in relation to the pension issues of former Gurkha soldiers. Speaking at the meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee in the parliament on Sunday, he expressed concern that if the UK government does not take the initiative to provide equal service benefits to British Gurkha soldiers as well, it may escalate to an international legal matter.

Govt lacks literacy of decentralization: UML Chair Oli

The CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, asserted that the current government has failed to comprehend the concept of power decentralization. Speaking at a training program organized for the lawmakers at the Parliament building on Sunday, former Prime Minister Oli levelled allegations of illiteracy about decentralization. He pointed out that the current government has become autocratic and has failed to understand the essence of power decentralization.

No signs of rape in Salin Pokharel’s post-mortem examination, report reveals

Post-mortem examinations conducted on Salin Pokharel from Chitwan have yielded no signs of rape. The body of the 14-year-old Pokharel underwent post-mortem examination at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. Officials involved in the examination have reported no evidence of rape.

Government and dairy association seal agreement

In a positive development, the government and the Central Dairy Cooperatives Association have reached a consensus after talks held earlier today. A five-point agreement was inked, with Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr. Beduram Bhusal and President of the Central Dairy Cooperatives Association, Amar Bahadur Kunwar, overseeing the discussions.

Gold price up by Rs 2,000 per tola today

Gold price increased by Rs 2,000 per tola in the Nepali market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been fixed at Rs 121,000 per tola and standard gold is traded at Rs 120,400 per tola. The precious yellow metal was traded at Rs. 119,000 per tola, and standard gold at Rs. 118,450 per tola on Friday.

PM Dahal prepares for Cabinet reshuffle ahead of parliamentary address

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has initiated preparations for a Cabinet reshuffle in anticipation of his address at the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) meeting. Amidst disruptions from opposition parties, who are demanding the resignation of several ministers, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire has urged PM Dahal to address the opposition’s queries. PM Dahal is scheduled to address the meeting accordingly on Monday.

NEPSE index drops on Sunday

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a decline on Sunday. The NEPSE closed at 1960.30 points, marking a decrease of 11.78 points. On this day, a total of 55,74,207 shares of 309 companies were traded, resulting in a transaction value of Rs 2.08 billion.
