KATHMANDU: The meeting of ruling coalition parties regarding the allocation of seats for the National Assembly elections ended without reaching a consensus.

The coalition leaders had reached Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar for the meeting on Wednesday evening.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal ‘Prachanda’ shared CPN-UML Chair KP Oli’s request to include UML in the seat sharing in the election.

According to CPN-Unified Socialist party Vice-Chair Rajendra Prasad Pandey the meeting ended inconclusively on Wednesday.

Pandey also stated that due to the lack of consensus among the ruling parties on this matter, they have agreed to convene another meeting at 9 am on Thursday.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal also briefed on Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar’s upcoming visit to Nepal.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN-Unified Socialist party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, along with other leaders.
