RSP’s Rojina elected as Ward Chairperson of Kathmandu-16

KATHMANDU: Rojina Shrestha, a candidate from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been elected as the ward chairperson for Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16.

Shrestha secured 2,902 votes out of a total of 10,558, defeating her rivals.

The Nepali Congress candidate, Devendra Pathak, received 2,204 votes, while Laxmi Ratna Tuladhar of the CPN-UML came in third with 2,220 votes.

Other candidates included Shyam Krishna Shrestha from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), who received 774 votes, and Min Bahadur Manandhar from the CPN-Unified Socialist Party, who received 1,082 votes.

In the 2079 BS election, the Nepali Congress had won in this constituency, but the rise of the RSP marks a significant shift in the political landscape.
