Five parliament committees convene to discuss key issues



 

KATHMANDU: Five committees of the Federal Parliament are meeting today at Singha Durbar to deliberate on various significant legislative and policy matters.

The meetings, scheduled between 10:30 am and 1 pm, will address a wide range of topics critical to governance and national development.

The Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee is set to discuss sections related to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology as part of the bill to amend some Nepal Acts.

Meanwhile, the Finance Committee will hold discussions with stakeholders and experts regarding the Bill to amend and unify the Customs Law.

Similarly, the International Relations and Tourism Committee will focus on the Prime Minister’s recent foreign visit, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ program for the fiscal year 2024/25, and the progress achieved so far.

The Legislative Management Committee is tasked with conducting a clause-wise discussion of the Tilganga Eye University Bill, 2024.

Additionally, the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will meet with the Ministry of Health and Population.

Both the Minister of Health and the Ministry Secretary have been invited to participate in the discussions.
