President Paudel performs Gai Puja

President Ram Chandra Paudel performed Gai Puja (cow worship) today.

There is a tradition of worshipping cow as the symbol of Goddess Laxmi on the day of Kartik Krishna Aunshi or Gai Tihar.

President Paudel worshipped cow ritually and fed delicious food to her at Sheetal Niwas.

Govt to initiate inclusion of Nepal Bhasa in school curriculum: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Oli has said that the government will take steps to integrate Nepal Bhasa into the school curriculum.

During a ceremony where he honored the statue of Shankhadhar Sakhwa, the founder of Nepal Sambat and a national figure, at Sankhadhar Sakhwa Chowk in Madhyapur Thimi, PM Oli emphasized his commitment to safeguarding language, culture, and civilization both personally and in his official capacity.

At an event organized by the Shankhadhar Sakhwa Foundation, he noted that the foundation’s legitimate requests would be gradually addressed within the state’s capabilities.

Nepal Sambat 1145 being observed today

The Nepal Sambat New Year 1145 is being celebrated across the country today amid various programs.

The people of the Newar community are celebrating the Nepal Sambat as New Year’s Day at present.

The Nepal Sambat is an indigenous calendar of Nepal. The Nepal Sambat or calendar year was begun by Shankhadhar Sakhwa by relieving the people of Nepal off debt during the rule of Lichchhavi King Raghavdev in 880 AD.

Nepal triumphs over Australia in ‘The Hong Kong Sixes’

Nepal secured a thrilling victory against Australia in their second match of ‘The Hong Kong Sixes’ cricket tournament.

Having entered the second round following their first match, Nepal defeated Australia by 11 runs today.

In their opening match yesterday morning, Nepal triumphed over England by 6 wickets.

Hong Kong Sixes: Nepal loses to Sri Lanka in quarterfinal

Nepal has lost to Sri Lanka in the quarterfinal of the ongoing Hong Kong Sixes Cricket.

Sri Lanka defeated Nepal with 40 runs in the match played in Mission Road Ground of Hong Kong on Saturday.

Nepal was chasing Sri Lanka’s 124 runs but secured only 83 runs losing all wickets in five overs.

CPN (US) leader Nepal off to attend World Parliamentary Forum against Fascism

CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair and Madhav Kumar Nepal has left here for Venezuela today to take part in the ‘World Parliamentary Forum against Fascism’.

Nepal, also former Prime Minister, is leading Nepali delegation to the Forum at the invitation of the Parliamentary Forum of Venezuela.

During his visit, leader Nepal is scheduled to address a conference to be organized by the Forum in Venezuela on November 4-5, said party’s secretary Som Prasad Pandey.
