Fire in Barhathawa of Siraha, property worth 2.75 million damaged



SARLAHI: A fire broke out in Barhathawa market of Sarlahi last night.

According to Sarlahi Police, the fire caused a loss worth around 2.75 million rupees.

The fire broke out in a shop run at the house of Kisun Das in Barhathawa Municipality-7.

As a result, the Rajveer wholesale grocery shop operated by Naresh Shah, potato store of Vijay Das and the tailor shop of Saroj Raut Kurmi were damaged in the fire, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Gautam Thapa.

The fire that started at 11:30 last night was brought under control only at 2:00 am today.

The police said that the fire was brought under control with the help of security personnel, locals and Hariwan municipality fire department.

Similarly, a fire broke out from a candle lit for Lakshmi Pooja in the house of Jitu Raya in Dhankaul Rural Municipality-4.

District Police Office Sarlahi said that the fire destroyed the furtniture, TV, clothes, gold and silver in the room and caused a loss of Rs 250,000.
