KATHMANDU: The death toll from the floods and landslides that struck on September 27 and 28 due to relentless rains has reached 228.

Rishiram Tiwari, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs, stated that 25 individuals remain missing, while 158 people have sustained injuries.

Additionally, 13,071 individuals have been rescued from the affected areas.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing, and free food and relief materials are being distributed to those impacted.

Medical treatment for the injured is also being provided at no cost.

Spokesman Tiwari emphasized that the government is prioritizing rescue and relief efforts, with dedicated teams working tirelessly to clear blocked highways and restore traffic.
