Heavy rain expected in several provinces today



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon air.

It has noted that the weather across the country is partially to generally overcast.

Currently, Gandaki, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and isolated areas in the Bagmati Province are experiencing light rain.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy nationwide.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with a few places in the remaining provinces also experiencing similar conditions.

There is also a possibility of heavy rain in isolated areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces, and in a few areas of the remaining provinces.

Heavy rain may occur in one or two locations in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, the possibility of heavy rain persists in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has advised the public to be cautious of potential risks or damage from events such as flash floods, river overflows, landslides, and soil erosion.
