Godawari Municipality to provide Rs 500,000 to wildfire victim families

LALITPUR: Godawari Municipality has decided to provide Rs 500,000 as financial assistance to each family of those killed in the course of trying to bring the wildfire under control.

Shankar Pahari and Ramesh Pahari of Badikhel in Godawari municipality had lost their lives in the course of dousing the wildfire.

Spokesperson of the municipality, Milan Silwal, said the meeting of the municipal executive took the decision in this regard.

Chairperson of the Naudhara Forest Users’ Committee in Godawari-3, Madan Pantha, shared that the forest fire had taken place in the area after 12 years.
