63 climbers receive permits for Mt Everest expedition in Spring

KATHMANDU: The Department of Tourism has issued permits to 63 mountaineers, comprising 13 women and 50 men, to ascend Mt Everest during this year’s spring season.

These permits were obtained by five different expedition teams by Monday.

Chun Bahadur Tamang, Section Officer of the Department, disclosed that a total of 148 individuals, including 42 women, have been granted permits to climb various mountains, with the collection of 105.59 million rupees in royalty thus far.

In a press statement, the Department highlighted the allocation of permits, with three expedition teams each granted permits to ascend Mt Amadablam and Mt Annapurna, alongside Mt Everest.

Last year, 478 individuals were issued permits to climb Mt Everest, as reported by the Department.
