KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has urged the government to initiate a thorough investigation into the suspicious death of a girl in Chitwan.

The deceased, 14-year-old Shalin Pokharel, was discovered dead in a hostel at Shishu Niketan Boarding School in Ratnanagar Municipality-10. The NC has expressed serious concern over the incident and the suspicious circumstances surrounding it, as stated in a press release issued by the party.

The discovery of the body hanging has raised suspicions of either suicide or murder. Therefore, the NC emphasizes the necessity for the government to investigate the case thoroughly, uncover the truth, and take strict actions against those found responsible, the statement further reads.

Shalin Pokharel, originally from Ajirkot Rural Municipality-5 in Gorkha district, was a student at Shishu Niketan Boarding School and resided in the school’s hostel.
