Biker assaults police with Knife at Sarlahi office premises



SARLAHI: In a shocking incident on Friday, a traffic policeman on duty in Nawalpur, Sarlahi, became the target of a knife attack at the district traffic police office.

According to Madan Thapa, Chief of the Sarlahi District Police Office, Pramod Mahato, a traffic police personnel stationed at the Nawalpur district traffic police office, was assaulted with a knife within the office premises.

The assault occurred as Mahato was entering the office after conducting regular checks on the East-West Highway.

Yamamuddin Deman, a resident of Rajpur-1, Rautahat, has been apprehended by the police in connection with the attack. Deman, riding a motorcycle with registration number Na 19 Pa 2555, targeted Mahato during the assault.

Mahato sustained injuries to his head, hands, and abdomen during the knife attack. After receiving initial treatment at the local health facility, he was subsequently transferred to the National Medical College in Birgunj for further medical attention.

Police have initiated additional investigations into the incident to uncover the motives behind the assault.
