NEA urges employees to uphold institutional dignity on social media

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has warned its employees to uphold the dignity of the institution while using social media.

The Authority has reminded all employees that it is their responsibility to comply with the provisions related to conduct as outlined in the NEA Employee Service Terms and Conditions and Regulations.

The NEA expressed concern over the recent rise in unverified and misleading posts and reactions on social media and in some media outlets that negatively affect the reputation of the institution and society, including the circulation of official letters.

Joint Director of the NEA, Narayan Prasad Acharya, said that all stakeholders must play a positive role in discouraging such tendencies among employees and in ensuring that social media use remains dignified, orderly and constructive.

The Authority has instructed employees not to post official letters or share unnecessary content on social media that violates the code of conduct stipulated in the NEA Employee Service Terms and Conditions and Regulations, 2075 BS.

The notice further states that if any employee is found posting or responding to inappropriate content, their details will be collected and departmental action will be taken in accordance with the regulations.
