PM Cup: Nepal Police’s dominance meets Tribhuvan Army’s determination in finals



KATHMANDU: The thrilling finale of the Prime Minister Cup is poised for Saturday, featuring an intense face-off between two powerhouse departmental teams, Nepal Police Club, and Tribhuvan Army Club.

Nepal Police Club has displayed exceptional prowess throughout the tournament, maintaining an undefeated record in all nine matches played, securing their place at the top of the scoreboard with an impressive 18 points.

In their latest encounter at the Mulpani cricket ground in Kathmandu, Nepal Police outperformed Sudurpaschim, clinching victory with a commanding lead of 78 runs.

On the other side, Tribhuvan Army Club secured a well-deserved spot in the finals by finishing second in the scoreboard with 14 points.

Having played nine matches, the Army faced defeat in two but rebounded triumphantly in their latest clash against Gandaki Province, winning by a substantial margin of 68 runs.

The finals promise to be a riveting showdown between these two formidable teams, both vying for the prestigious trophy and championship title.

Ten teams, including representatives from seven provinces and three departmental teams, fiercely competed throughout the tournament, adding an extra layer of excitement to the cricketing spectacle.
