KATHMANDU: Rajendra Lingden, Chairperson of the Rastriya Prajatantra (RPP), has criticized the government for its inadequate response to national disasters, including floods, landslides, and inundation.

In a statement on Facebook today, Lingden described the remarks made by Prime Minister KP Oli and other ministers regarding these natural calamities as objectionable.

He noted that while the meteorologist’s ‘red alert’ system cannot completely prevent disasters, it could have helped minimize the damage.

“The government has failed to act effectively,” he stated.

Lingden specifically targeted Prime Minister Oli’s comments made upon returning from the United Nations General Assembly, where the Prime Minister acknowledged that there was no forecast for potential landslide locations.

Lingden expressed concern over this lack of preparedness and clarity.
