KATHMANDU: A devastating series of landslides and floods triggered by incessant rains has resulted in 217 confirmed deaths and left 28 people missing.

Home Ministry spokesperson Rishi Ram Tiwari stated that 143 individuals have sustained injuries due to the natural disaster.

All security agencies are actively engaged in search, rescue, and relief operations.

So far, 4,331 people have been rescued from affected areas.

Tiwari noted that emergency relief materials, including food, have been distributed to flood victims, and medical treatment for the injured is being provided free of charge.

He emphasized that the government is prioritizing search, rescue, and relief efforts and is working to clear blocked highways to restore traffic operations.
