KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the full protection and proper utilization of land registered in the name of the Nepal Children’s Organisation (Bal Mandir).

During a meeting with the organization’s officials at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar today, the Prime Minister instructed them to take stringent actions, if necessary, to safeguard all physical properties, including land and buildings owned by the organization across the country.

He urged the officials to prevent any attempts at land grabbing, encroachment, or misuse of the organization’s properties.

If any land has been seized, he insisted that its ownership must be reclaimed by the organization.

The meeting was attended by newly appointed Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal and Secretary at the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Phanindra Gautam.

Prime Minister Oli also stressed the importance of ensuring proper care and facilities for the children under the organization’s care.

Organization President Bidhya Neupane requested the government’s full cooperation in securing a revised and official statute for the organization, recognizing it as a special entity, protecting its land, and assisting children facing difficulties in obtaining birth registrations and citizenships.

Currently, around 300 children are under the protection of the organization.
