BHARATPUR: CPN-UML Chairperson and former Prime Minister KP Oli has emphasized the significant potential for tourism development in Bharatpur.

Speaking at the inaugural session of Bharatpur Visit Year 2024 at the Narayani River banks today, Chair Oli noted that Bharatpur has evolved into a city with a diverse population, blending individuals from various regions of the country and indigenous communities of the district.

He stated, “Chitwan is a city with immense tourism potential. Recognizing this, I had proposed a plan for a waterway route connecting Bengal via Narayani and Koshi rivers. The private sector has now implemented infrastructure for water tourism in rivers, including Narayani, based on this plan.”

The UML Chair highlighted his support for initiatives such as the construction of an Assembly Hall, a six-lane road, and a postal road to contribute to Bharatpur’s development.

Asserting that Bharatpur has the potential to become a hub for agriculture, education, and health, he expressed his commitment, stating that he and his party would consistently support Bharatpur’s development.
