KATHMANDU: Janamat Party Chairman Dr. CK Raut, along with several members, including Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Anita Devi, has been released by the Nepal Police following a period of detention for their involvement in a protest within a restricted area.

The Nepal Police detained 63 individuals associated with the party, including Raut, who also holds a seat in the House of Representatives. They were taken into custody while marching from New Baneshwor to Maitighar and were subsequently held under police control within the restricted zone due to their participation in the protest.

Kamal Giri, the Press Coordinator for the Ministry of Home Affairs, confirmed that Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha personally visited the Nepal Police Club and issued the order for the release of Chairman Raut, Minister Anita Devi, and all the participants involved in the demonstration.

Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Spokesperson SSP Dinesh Raj Mainali clarified that the police detained the leaders for trespassing into the restricted area.
