Efforts underway for Bipin Joshi’s release in second phase of ceasefire: Foreign Minister Saud

KANCHANPUR: Minister for Foreign Affairs Minister NP Saud shared updates on the government’s ongoing efforts to secure the safe release of Bipin Joshi, reportedly held hostage by Hamas.

Speaking at the 17th-anniversary celebrations of Shuklaphanta FM in Mahendranagar, Minister Saud highlighted the consistent appeals made to the Government of Israel for Bipin’s release.

“I personally visited Qatar, a nation with strong ties to Palestine, and requested the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to initiate efforts for Bipin’s release,” the Minister stated.

He expressed optimism that the release is anticipated to occur during the second phase of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Taking the opportunity to address Bipin Joshi’s parents, who appealed for government intervention in ensuring their child’s safety, Minister Saud reassured them.

He affirmed that their son’s return home is expected during the second phase of the ceasefire.

Shifting to another topic, Minister Saud noted the recent improvements in Nepal’s relations with its neighbors.

He highlighted a significant agreement reached during the Prime Minister’s visit to India, wherein both nations agreed on the trade of 10,000 MW of electricity from Nepal to India over ten years.

India committed to purchasing power from Nepal for a period of 25 years as part of this agreement.
