NEPSE witnesses double-digit decline on Tuesday

Turnover shrinks to Rs 2.82 billion



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the stock market index, fell by double digits on Tuesday. The market index decreased by 15.70 points and closed at 2111.68 points today.

The stock market saw the decline in the transaction amount as well. The total transaction amount on Tuesday was also limited to Rs 2.82 billion.

Out of 259 companies traded on Tuesday, the share price of 148 companies decreased, while the price of 57 companies increased and 11 companies remained unchanged.

Even in the falling market, the share price of Adarsh Micro Finance Company increased by 10 percent. Shareholders of Barahi Hydro, Lumbini General Insurance and Eastern Hydro made profits in Tuesday’s market.

The shareholders of companies like Prime Life Insurance, Manakamana Smart Microfinance and others  suffered the loss today. The share price of these companies decreased by 4.37 percent to 5.21 percent today.
