Lalitpur CDO and Lalitpur Police Chief summoned to Home Ministry and Police Headquarters respectively



KATHMANDU: The Home Ministry has called back the Chief District Officer (CDO) and the District Police Chief of Lalitpur.

Following the incident in Balkumari, the Home Ministry held a high-level meeting on Saturday, deciding to recall Rudra Prasad Pandit, the Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, as per the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Minister. Similarly, the Lalitpur District Police Chief, SSP Siddhi Bikram Shah, has been summoned to the Police Headquarters.

As the inquiry committee has been investigating the incident, the ministry informed that after receiving the investigation committee’s report, further actions will be taken accordingly.

According to the Ministry’s Spokesperson Narayan Bhattarai, DSP Umesh Lamsal, the official at command during the incident, and Bodhraj Danuwar, the personal security official of the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala has been suspended to help in the investigation.

The Home Ministry expressed deep concern and extreme sensitivity towards the incident. They also assured that the government remains committed to ensuring citizens’ rights to maintain peace and harmony.
