Govt allocates Rs 8.45 billion for midday meals for community schools



KATHMANDU: The government has announce to continue the midday meal program for children studying in community schools.

Unveiling the budget for the fiscal year 2023/24, Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said on Monday that 8 billion 450 million rupees have been allocated to this effect.

He said that the students will not be given any junk food under the midday meal program.

Minister Mahat is delivering the budget speech at the joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament on Monday.

The government has been providing midday meals to enhance the quality of education in public schools.
