25,000 landless people to get land ownership certificates



KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that land will be distributed to 25,000 landless people at 110 local levels through the Land Commission in the coming financial year.

while giving a budget speech for the next financial year in the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament, Minister Mahat said that land owners will be provided with compensation after measuring the exempted land.

He revealed the village block land survey will be completed in the next financial year.

Informing that a system will be arranged to classify the land as cultivable on a scientific basis, he mentioned that the classification of land will be made effective and transparent at the local level.
