Govt announces separate fund for research, innovation, and invention, allocates Rs 1 billion



KATHMANDU: The government has announced to establish a separate fund for research, innovation, and invention.

Presenting the budget for the next financial year in the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament on Monday, Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said that one billion has been allocated for the program.

“The government will adopt the policy of spending at least one percent of the government’s total capital budget on research, innovation, and invention. I have allocated one billion to establish a separate fund for research, innovation, and invention,” he said.

He promised to draft the necessary laws for the effective enforcement of government policy.
