10-party meeting inconclusive today as well

To meet again at 3pm today

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the 10-party ruling coalition aimed at finalizing the expansion of the cabinet ended inconclusively today as well.

Top leaders, who attended today’s meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, said they will meet again at 3 pm today.

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav, Janamat Party Chairman CK Raut, Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepa, and other top leaders participated in the meeting.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda held one-on-one talks with Madhav Nepal.

The meeting which was held even on Tuesday was inconclusive after the Nepali Congress maintained a rigid stance on 8 ministries.

Meanwhile, Unified Socialist Chairman Nepal has demanded that his party should get 3 ministries.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dahal is preparing to expand the cabinet today itself after the meeting.

“If the meeting ends on a positive note, PM Dahal will most probably expand the cabinet today itself,” the source added.

Even though Prime Minister Dahal has already taken the vote of confidence, the expansion of the cabinet is being delayed due to the lack of agreement between the parties of the ruling coalition.

The ruling coalition includes Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, Janamat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Unified Socialist Party, and others.
