JANAKPURDHAM: Dhanusha is hosting the first hockey tournament of national standard from February 6.
The Fifth Sahana Pradhan Memorial Women’s Hockey Championship will be taking place at the playground of Himalaya Youth Club at Naktajhij of Mithila municipality-2 that lies in the northern part of Janakpurdham, the capital of Madhesh Province.
The tournament will be held from February 6 to 11. All the seven provinces and the Nepal Army team will compete for the title, according to Nepal Hockey Association.
The aim of choosing the Madhesh Province for organizing the tournament is to promote women’s hockey in the Province by connecting it to the empowerment of women, it is said. Association and the Mithila municipality are the co-organizers of the tournament.
