NEPALGUNJ: Banke is hosting the seventh Tharu Literary Conference on February 3-6 at Phattepur of Rapti Sonari rural village.

The aim of the event is to archive the Tharu literature and history.

The Conference will center on dialogues on the contemporary situation of the Tharu literature, exploration of creative writing, Tharu language, culture and attire, according to Tharu Writers’ Association Central member Shekhar Dahit.

As he said, the event will provide a room for Tharu and non-Tharu writers to share experiences and promote the published creations.

The event to be organised by the Association and supported by the local Tharu Gochali Society will see orientation on literary writing and discussions on vivid issues ranging for literary to health to politics concerning the Tharu community.

Tharu literary, songs, Barghar in development, political awakening in West Tharuhat, potentiality of the promotion of Tharu entrepreneurship in home stay, Tharu life in fiction writing, situation of Tharu literature in Banke, youths in Tharu literature, sickle cell  anemia issue among the Tharu people are among the agenda of event discussions, according to Society general secretary Kaluram Tharu.

Tharu literary people from Jhapa to Kanchanpur will attend the event.   The Association organizes the Conference each year in different districts, said Association central member Som Demandaura.
