KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued a circular urging schools to exclusively adopt government-approved curricula.
The metropolitan authority has also issued a warning against institutions deviating from the approved curriculum.
This directive follows reports of certain schools teaching curricula that have not been sanctioned by the government. The circular emphasizes that schools must adhere to the curriculum approved by the Nepal government and the Curriculum Development Center in Sano Thimi, with the exception of English grammar and dictionaries.
It is crucial to note that schools are required to obtain government permission before making any changes to the approved curriculum. The KMC’s move aims to address concerns raised by parents and students who have reportedly been pressured to purchase textbooks associated with unapproved curricula.
