KATHMANDU: An earthquake took place today with its epicenter at Golche of Sindhupalchowk.
The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, Lainchaur said a tremor measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale and with epicenter around Golche of Sindhupalchok occurred at 1.19 pm today.
An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale with its epicenter around Daulichaur of Bajhang was recorded on May 24 before this.
Earthquakes have been frequently taking place in the western and eastern parts of the country of late.
The mountainous and hilly regions of the country are considered to be earthquake-prone regions.
