NC leader Koirala criticizes removal of MP’s speech from Parliament records

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Shekhar Koirala has expressed his displeasure over the removal of MP’s speech from Parliament with the consent of the ruling party and the opposition party.

He expressed his displeasure, particularly with the party’s top leader who agreed to the removal of the statement.

Taking to social media on Sunday, he expressed his frustration, saying, “If we continue to prevent every expression of the MPs from reaching a logical conclusion, how long will we cover up the indecisions of the past?”

In reference to the removal of audio from the Parliament, leader Koirala posed an important question, saying, “Where are we headed in terms of preserving the dignity of MPs? Shouldn’t our parliament be able to fully exercise the rights granted to it by the Constitution without hindrance?”
