The assessment for the beautiful elephant competition was based on cleanliness, discipline in the elephant’s gait, treatment to others including human being, and evaluation of the elephant’s conduct as per human values.
Binod Timilsina, a member of the decision-making committee, highlighted that they assessed the elephant’s grooming, decorations, the sparkle in their eyes, their manner of walking, discipline, the elephant’s age, and the shine of their skin for the assessment of beauty.
They also considered the elephant’s agility, obedience, calmness, demeanor, and physical appearance for the beautiful elephant evaluation.
