Hearing against cricketer Lamichhane postponed today

KATHMANDU: The hearing on the case against minor-rape-accused Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane scheduled for Monday has been postponed.

The case was postponed at the request of Lamichhane’s advocates.

According to sources, Lamichhane’s side opted for postponement of the hearing after noticing the case has been scheduled in the bench of Judge Madhav Ghimire.

Earlier, Ghimire had given the verdict against Lamichhane during preliminary hearing.

“We have filed an application seeking postponement of the hearing on the case since it was scheduled in the bench of Judge Ghimire who had sentenced Lamichhane to prison,” said Saroj Krishna Ghimire, the advocate of Lamichhane, “Hearing will be held next week.”
